John,
I think you need to team with Eclispe: let her put your words in the format she uses and you might have the beginning of an epic poem.
If she can handle the strain....

beside me on the cool dirt.
grab a drink, relax and tell me why there's so much suffering--did the world always hurt?
we're not prophets, nah, lord knows we ain't prophets, but happenstance you don't have to be a prophet to see the strain and tears drifting down the river with the eddies ebbing and flowing with a pulse flickering through the blood red snow covered banks.

i had this this in my head and even had it typed out but didn't post it but i see some still need to talk about the trevor saga on the board.. i was reading some of the initial threads where many people posted how they felt about what trevor had done.
people used the words; anger, shock, disbelief, hurt, sickened, duped, suckered, creeped out, confused, stupid, and betrayed.. given the situation those are all perfectly normal responses.
it isn't easy when we find out we have been lied to.
Lady,
Good post: excellent observation and commentary.
One scam does not demean the members of the board: it highlights thier openess and responsiveness and, well....love....
This board represents the coolest bunch of people I have ever met.
One person told me, when I was telling her about "apostates:" "It looks like the WT looses the best."
She is right, you know.....

i'm not after a discussion on the rights or wrongs on abortion, what i'm asking is whether or not your views have evolved over time.. perhaps leaving the watchtower was enough to allow your true feelings on abortion to find expression.
maybe abortion is one of those subjects where you still find yourself in agreement with your old jw self.
did becoming a mother change your perspective in any way or solidify your views?.
Journey,
After studying the problem with "meth orphans" in MO and seeing the disaster of "foster care" I am VERY MUCH for orphanages.
Have you investigated the story of Hershey (the chocholate guy)?

No.
Abortion is the pre-meditated murder of an infant.
V PS: I have not read any other posts....will now...
not sure where i should put this.
anyways i just wanted to say hello.. .
brandy lynn.
Brandy,
Welcome aboard: looking forward to your thoughts....

i recently saw my jw brother and sil and listened to them talk about poor sister sick(o) who has been diagnosed with major mental problems.
she went to the doctor's and the doctor supposedly began to berate her out of the blue because she is a jehovah's witness.
now the family wants to have the doctor formally rebuked for his so called "discriminatory comments".
TSR,
Hey....Welcome!
Good thread to start in on the board, huh?
Looking forward to your posts.....

i'm geting confused, and part of that is that the elders handbook seems to kind of leave this up to each congo in some ways, which is pathetic.
we have all the other exact rules, lets have one here so faders do not accidentally cross the line.
just recently was a great thread where the father was turned in by his wife for just getting c of c, and i don't believe he would have been df'd for that, or even reading that, but he chose to take a firm stand and he deserves respect for that.
Apostate according to Vernon Williams:
If you place Truth above Agree-a-bility you are an "apostate."
O, it is just that simple. Do not make something simple complex, bro. The fact is the WT wants compliance and gulible acceptance. NOTHING in the Borg is designed to train a person to think or be self reliant. The gaol is to produce a group of beings just capable of changing thier own diaper....
Your ARE doing great!! You ARE in Journey. And, because you are approaching Life, now, with increasing clarity you will do fine.
Hell of a ride, ain't it?
Take care,
V
do you believe in witches, goblins, ghosts?
is there anything out in the shadows to really fear?
is there a supernatural world out there?
Jeff,
There is a story...fairly long and interesting, that happened to my daughter's friend and her little girl: I will post that in a few days.
My perception of "things uncommon" has gone through a change the last two years.
I just accept the facts and walk in "un-knowing-ness" with a lot of comfort.
Kinda cool....
I'll get back with you on the story,
V
it has been sadly interesting to see fadingeld's and others experiences unfold...wife out the door pronto and some not.
many here are still married, one in one out.
i have basically had a sucessful unplanned fade.

Hey, bro that is a big improvement over a month ago when we were all worried over you.
Now, with progress like that....anything is possible....
Yours in this Struggle,

i'm tired of being an apostate, atheist, agnostic, take your pick.
i was going to start calling myself a heretic, but then i decided to look up apostate in the thesaurus.
look at all the lovely words we have to choose from:.
Just think....
As a JW you would have no choice at all....
